Travelers from around 30 third countries can now enter France without having to follow additional entry rules as they have been added to the Green List.
Updating the list of countries no longer severely affected by the COVID-19 disease, the French authorities have announced that all of the following countries will now be part of the green category:
Angola Argentina Bahamas Bangladesh Benin Bolivia Botswana Canada Comoros Djibouti Dominican Republic El Salvador Eswatini India Iraq Jamaica Kazakhstan Kenya Lesotho Namibia Oman Pakistan Paraguay Peru Philippines Saint Kitts and Nevis South Africa Zambia Zimbabwe
Apart from the above countries, France’s green list already includes many other third countries. In addition, part of the green list is also all EU / Schengen area countries.
All travelers arriving in France from one of the Green List countries, including those who have not been vaccinated against the virus, are allowed to enter without restrictions even if they do not have an underlying reason for their trip.
“No restrictions will be applied when entering urban France from a Green List country or territory. There is no need for a compelling reason for travelers to France,” the ministry notes.
Vaccinated persons traveling from a green area are not required to undergo additional entry rules as long as they present a valid vaccination certificate. The vaccination permit is valid upon entering France as long as the document proves that the holder has completed the vaccination within the past nine months or received an additional dose of vaccine.
Unvaccinated travelers from a “safe zone” are also allowed to enter France for all kinds of purposes without having to undergo additional measures upon arrival. Travelers arriving in France from a Green List country are required to submit a PCR or rapid antigen test.
“For unvaccinated travelers, the obligation to provide a negative test for travel to France remains, but procedures on arrival (testing and isolation) are lifted when they come from countries on the “green” list, which have a moderate spread of the virus,” the French authorities said in a statement.
The PCR test must be performed within 72 hours prior to arrival, and the rapid antigen test must be performed within 48 hours prior to arrival.
On the other hand, stricter rules apply to unvaccinated travelers entering France from a country on the orange list.
Unvaccinated travelers arriving in France from a country on the orange list must take the test in addition to providing a sworn statement certifying that they have no symptoms of COVID-19. In addition, travelers from the orange zone may also undergo a health screening upon arrival.
